Since October of 1999, there has been active outreach to the Spanish speaking community at St. Mary Parish in New Albany and throughout Clark, Floyd, and Harrison Counties. The population of immigrants from Spanish speaking countries has grown significantly in the past ten years, and since a large majority is Catholic, it is important to provide this ministry. Currently about 500 people attend the weekly mass at 2:00 pm on Sunday, and the Hispanic Ministry Office provides a wide variety of religious, professional, and social services to the Hispanic community. Thanks to the cooperation and support of St. Mary parish and the deanery, thousands of people find a home to worship and someone to respond to their questions and concerns
